The North Starr, part of the Harrington Starr recruitment group require an IT Technical Consultant who is looking for their next career move in the square mile.

This role will see the post-holder combine their talents of Technical & Functional Consulting with 360 Product Implementation.

Based near to Aldgate, the City you will be joining a niche player in the Banking world, joining a highly motivated team who are all looking to improve the Clients experience.

The Core responsibilities for this role include:

  • Provide technical and functional consulting expertise in relation to the installation and use of the clients product to UK and International Clients
  • Be a key player in the company's pre-sales efforts, responding to RFIs/RFPs, explaining the technical aspects of the application in presentations and workshops, and discussing requirements with prospects, and existing clients
  • Develop and maintain a good knowledge of the infrastructure configurations used to run the Banking product, so as to provide advice to our prospects and clients on the most effective configuration to install and operate
  • Maintain and develop relationships with our existing clients on the basis of your professional knowledge and expertise as well your deep understanding of the product and its capabilities

To qualify for an interview for this Technical Consultant role will are looking for evidence in the following areas:

Have a university degree or equivalent (3-5 years after A-levels) with an business or IT background, and several years professional experience in the banking or financial sector, preferably including the implementation of packaged IT solutions

Have a proven ability to rapidly understand business, functional and technical issues, and to apply knowledge and creativity to finding the appropriate solutions

Broad IT Technical knowledge of Databases, Reporting, Application Servers & Messaging.

Tech skills: SWIFT and or FIX protocols, Oracle, SQL, SOAP, RESTFUL, Crystal Reports, Websphere etc - training provided into different technical areas when required.

Experience of working with external partners & developing a good understanding of key partner solutions

Comfortable in discussions on business processes, operations and IT issues in a financial services context.

Have the ability to provide 360 support from the pre-sales pitch to the final post product implementation.

Knowledge of bespoke & OTS Banking Systems would be an advantage, as would knowledge of wealth management

Fluent in written and spoken English, understanding of French is advantageous.

Worldwide travel is optional for this role, so we are keen to hear from Technical Consultants across EMEA
