The North Starr, part of the Harrington Starr recruitment group are looking to place an MSBI Datawarehouse Developer who is ready for a new permanent career challenge. This role will combine the elements of best practice Datawarehousing with new greenfield project implementations. This opportunity will see the successful post-holder further their career in full stack MSBI technologies, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS
For the right candidate with excellent full MSBI stack skills, this will be a fantastic opportunity to break into the world of Investment Banking.
Based in the heart of the Square Mile, you will be joining a team of Developers that understand how to get the very best out of their system, but yet strive to push the technical boundaries for maximum client benefit.
You will be coming into the team at grass roots level to assist with the design & build of a new reporting solution with data sourced from a variety of processing platforms.
From day one, you will be encouraged to bring new ideas to the table and work in deep collaboration with your co-workers, thus helping to create a hotbed of technical innovation and progression within the department.
Some of the key responsibilities for this MSBI Datawarehouse Developer will include the following tasks.
Work collaboratively within a global team spanning 4 continents.
Sit in on daily meetings between London and New York.
Help to provide hands‐on development using SQL Server 2012/2014
Liaise with project managers, business analysts and development lead to assist in the build of a strategic reporting solution.
Develop, test, and integrate code for existing data warehouse development in compliance with client wide data management principles and security controls.
Help to document data integration strategies for data flows between disparate source/target systems for data warehouse
Use SSIS, T-SQL, or dynamic SQL to create packages to load data from source systems to stage to DWH
Demonstrate equally strong commercial experience across both the SSRS and SSAS domains
Follow standard delivery methodology from Development, Testing, UAT and Production.
Assist with and promote design guidelines, best practices and standards
To qualify for this role we require the following core Skills:
Minimum 4 years strong hands on development experience in SQL Server 2012/2014 Integration
Service (SSIS) development, scripting development, error checking, performance tuning, job
scheduling, and deployment methodology.
Experience in SQL Server 2012/2014 database development such as SQL, XML, function, procedure, indexes, table partition, and query optimization.
Solid experience in large complex data warehouse environment and strong knowledge in ETL and data warehouse methodology.
Must be able to understand the project development life cycle & advanced skills and experience with data modelling and enterprise data marts.
Have an awareness of modern data warehouse design and Erwin Data Modeler
It will be advantageous to have awareness of Cloud technology
