The Harrington Starr Data team are looking to hire a Big Data Engineer who is ready to embark on the next phase of their career.
To thrive in this role you will be able to combine the elements of best practice data modelling and emerging big-data technologies.
Our client has a HQ in central London, however the role offers a mixture of 'client-site, HQ & home-working'.
You will form part of the Big Data Engineering team, a division that is looking to push the boundaries of emerging data technology.
The core responsibilities for this Lead Big Data Engineer are as follows:
Work closely with internal & external stakeholders on complex Big Data solutions.
Help the wider team present complex data concepts to legacy and new customers.
Assist external clients with complex data solutions and help them adopt modern data architecture approach.
Face off to senior external & internal technical data stakeholders.
Have a degree of autonomy over all Software Applications, Data Management & Analytics platforms.
To qualify for an immediate telephone interview for this Lead Big Data Engineer role, we require the following skills:
Must have around 2 years' commercial experience working in Data Engineering.
Fully understand modern data architectures + distributed and decentralised files systems.
Experience with either Java or Scala programming language
Exposure to Automation CI/CD
Cloud GCP, AWS, Azure plus hands on development experience
An aptitude for all things Big Data with the tenacity to challenge decisions through logical reasoning.
Some Consultancy experience will be useful and the ability to form strong relationships with external clients.
