The Harrington Starr recruitment group are looking to place a seasoned SQL Server Developer who is ready for a new permanent career challenge. The role will combine elements of best practice BI Development with high level visualization techniques. We do also have an opportunity for a junior to mid-level BI Developer so read on if you fall into this category.
Based near to Knightsbridge Central London, we need this BI Developer to be at the very height of their technical capabilities. You will be working with a team who are striving to push the boundaries of their tech-stack in order for the stakeholders to gain a competitive advantage over their rivals.
This role will combine the elements of best practice Datawarehousing with new greenfield project implementations. This opportunity will see the successful post-holder further their career in the world of Financial Services and take their BI skills to the next level.
You will be coming into the team at grass roots level and working very closely with business users from day one. This will be a complete 360 BI Development role and you will get a chance to enhance your skills across business analysis and project management work.
From day one, you will be encouraged to bring new ideas to the table and work in deep collaboration with your co-workers, thus helping to create a hotbed of technical innovation and progression within the department.
Some of the key responsibilities for this SQL Server Developer will include the following tasks.
Provide project support from inception and design with the end users, to development, testing, deployment and post deployment support.
Work with data integration strategies for data flows between disparate source/target systems for data warehouse.
Promote Advanced Microsoft SQL Server Development and data analytical skills across the team
As part of the wider team help to create better visualisation techniques and process across the product suite.
Assist with and promote design guidelines, best practices and standards
Work with stakeholders in a 360 capacity for all BAU and project initiatives.
To qualify for this SQL Server Developer role we will require the individual to possess the following skill set.
Approx. 6 years hands on development experience in SQL Server to 2016
SSIS development, scripting development, performance tuning etc.
Advantageous to understand SSAS (or equivalent OLAP tool)
PowerBI (or equivalent, such as Tableau, Spotfire, Qlikview, etc.)
Strong commercial experience in SQL Server to 2016 database development such as SQL, XML, function, procedure & query optimization
Strong experience working in large, complex Data Warehouse environment plus solid exposure to ETL & DW methodology.
Strong understanding of MSBI stack & future roadmap.
Understanding of Enterprise Data Management & governance design approach.
Strong SDLC knowledge
Advanced data modelling & dimensional modelling techniques
Experience in Reg Reporting is advantageous.
Be able to work in a fast paced Agile environment..
Have experience of working with stakeholders in different time zones and work with off shore teams.
